God, you are so good. You sent your Holy Spirit to guide Ellie's birth mother, you sent your angels to surround her and protect her, you blessed the orphanages she had been placed in, you moved in the hearts of the amazing people of New Hope to care for her, you guided the surgeons hands while performing her surgery, and you called us to seek her and to become her parents. Lord, today, I ask you to speak words of comfort over Ellie's birth mother; give her the knowledge that her daughter is loved today and always. Please give her your peace. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to love this sweet girl! Please continue to guide our path to her and in our lives together as a forever family. Amen
LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD
Once there were two women who never knew each other
Once you do not remember, the other you call Mother
Two different lives shaped to make you one
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun
The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name
One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears
One made an adoption plan, that was all that she could do
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.
Now, which of these two women, are you the product of?
Both, my darling, both, just two different types of love.

Hi Aimee! This is Georgianna, who wrote to you on our yahoo group MIL-Fam-Adopt. When you shared your blogsite, I had to take a peek! I'm so blessed by your story, let alone this one little poem. I posted it on Facebook! Anyway, thank you for sharing so openly. Let me know when you get to Nevada. We should meet up for a playdate!
ReplyDeleteThanks Georgianna for the great comments! I would love to get together once we are in NV. Are you guys stationed at Nellis too?
